The MV “Trinity Bay”, built in 1996 and converted in 1998, is an 80 metre passenger carrying cargo vessel that has accommodation for up to 56 passengers and cruises at the speed of 14 knots.
The vessel travels from Cairns through the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, on a non-stop voyage to and from the ports of Thursday Island and Seisia. All meals are provided buffet style, coffee and tea facilities are provided all day and there is also a licensed bar on board. The ship is cashless, and only accepts Card Payment.
Please note the MV “Trinity Bay” requires passengers to complete a Passenger Medical Form, which will advise the crew of any medical issues they need to be aware of. This information will also be used by medical attendants, in the event of a medical emergency or accident.
The vessel is a working industrial ship and travels to remote locations. There is no doctor on board and it can be up to a day from professional medical assistance, so all passengers are required to truthfully and accurately complete and return a medical questionnaire prior to the confirmation of a booking. Certain conditions will necessitate a Doctor’s medical clearance.
Please download the form, complete, sign and return it to us by email to info@oztours.com.au or by fax to 07 4055 9918.
The Ship has certain hazards such as steep staircases, high hatchway step-overs and awkward gangway entrances. To be suitable for these conditions, passengers must be independently mobile, have general good health where any medical conditions are controlled and be mentally capable.
The cabins have 2 level bunk beds, so where passengers are in a triple or quad share cabin, 1 or 2 persons will need to climb to an upper level bunk.
Passengers should consider that the vessel travels to isolated areas and medical assistance may be up to a day away.
The Ships Master has the final decision regarding passenger fitness, so to avoid disappointment of a last minute refusal, call us to discuss any concerns you may have. 07 4054 4211.
