What you might expectOur 4WD safaris and tours visit isolated outback and undisturbed wilderness areas, normally inaccessible to large multi-seat coaches, and due to the remoteness of these regions, conditions will not be exactly the same as at home. Your companions will be from every walk of life, of all ages and usually with a spirit of adventure, a sense of humour, and a desire to get off the beaten track to enjoy the wilderness, to discover the real Australia. Camping SafarisYour holiday home is a roomy, twin-share, high profile 9ft tent with sewn in floor and high density foam mattresses. An important element is group participation whether striking camp, a fireside chat or an early morning bush walk. Careful planning ensures fresh sourced meals and we favour traditional open fire and camp oven cooking. Continental breakfast consists of cereals, toast and tea or coffee. Lunch, bush picnic style, usually a salad or sandwiches and fruit and tea, coffee or cordial. Dinner consists of main course, sweets and tea or coffee. All fares include meals as per itinerary code - (B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch, (D) Dinner. Please check itineraries. Accommodated ToursOur overnight stays quite often reflect the unique nature of the sparsely inhabited regions in which we travel. Forest shrouded resorts, lodges, hotels and motels in the townships and communities. "No-Frill" cattle station cabins and cabin tent accommodation along the track where no alternatives exist. All are clean and comfortable, the hospitality genuine, open and friendly, and the cuisine generous and appetising. Electricity at Musgrave and Moreton station accommodation is not generally available between 10pm & 7am. How will you travel - your vehicle Modern, air conditioned Toyota, Mitsubishi & MAN, purpose built 4WD Safari vehicles with comfortable, forward facing seats. P.A. system, Royal Flying Doctor radios, first aid kits and off road equipment are standard fittings. Sole Traveller DeparturesWe have selected special departure dates for our Cape York Overland /Sea Camping & Accommodated Tours this year. These tours have been selected for the Single Male & Single Female wishing to travel on their own, but willing to share a cabin on the Cargo Vessel without incurring the extra single supplement costs. However, the single land supplement may still apply in some of the accommodated tours.
Environment PolicyOz Tours Safaris is dedicated to the care and preservation of Cape York Peninsula and Gulf Savannah region, the surrounding waters, reefs and islands. Our experienced environmentally-conscious staff follow best practices that not only enhance the quality of your experience but totally protect the environment in which you travel. Alcohol RestrictionsAlcohol restrictions are currently in place in some Indigineous communities that we visit. These restrictions may only affect part of your tour, depending on which tour you are doing. In 2004 the Queensland Parliament passed a Bill which improves enforcement of liquor laws in restricted areas but also minimises its potential impact onthe tourism industry. Strict conditions apply for any permits granted to tour operators by the Liquor Licensing Division. Such permits specify the dates, type and amount of alcohol allowed in a tour vehicle while in a restricted area. We ask that you contact Oz Tours Safaris on 1800 079 006 prior to commencing your tour for information about alcohol restrictions that may be applicable to part of your tour. If you have questions about alcohol restrictions in Indigenous communities, call the Alcohol Management Program Information Line on 1300 789 000.
