Currently Oz Tours Safaris is hiring both Tour Guides and Hostess staff for our Cape York, Gulf Savannah, Outback Queensland and Kimberley program. Training
Training for any role with Oz Tours is extensive, and our team is considered one of the best in the industry, for this reason.
Touring crew receive a comprehensive "on the road training" program with one of our trainers. Oz Tours Safaris is Eco Certified Advanced Ecotourism and a Savannah Guide operator, therefore guides are encouraged to become a Savannah Guide. All touring team members receive constant feedback and mentoring from experienced operations staff.
The training offered is a considerable investment by Oz Tours and we expect a commitment from staff to remain with us for at least one season.
Information you need to know
Tourism is not a "9 to 5" industry. Working for extended periods, on different rosters is normal. A guide will work 10-14 hours per day and will spend their spare time researching to build their own destinational knowledge.
Customer service and safety is the central focus of any role with Oz Tours Safaris, and for tour guides and hostess positions, the majority of your time will be spent away from your home.
Essential Requirements
All staff who work for Oz Tours Safaris need to be able to legally work in Australia.
All tour staff must have a current First Aid certificate, and tour guides must have a clean, current Queensland Light Rigid vehicle licence, or the ability to obtain one, along with the mandatory driver authorisation.
