Itinerary
DAY 1 FRIDAY (D) - Depart Cairns, M.V "Trinity Bay"
Mid day pick up from your Cairns Accommodation. At 80 metres and over 3000 tonnes the Trinity Bay is the largest cargo vessel servicing the Straits and the only one to carry passengers.
DAY 2 SATURDAY (BLD) - Great Barrier Reef Marine Park
Total relaxation as you enjoy the company of the crew and ship board companions.
DAY 3 SUNDAY (BLD) - Thursday Island, Horn Island, "Barge Day"
The focus of all attention today are the wharves on Thursday & Horn Islands, as the MV Trinity Bay disgorges its cargo of fuel, building materials, indeed everything needed by these remote island communities. Time to explore legendary old Thursday Island. Optional tours of Thursday & Horn Islands available - book onboard MV Trinity Bay.
DAY 4 MONDAY (B) - Seisia, Bamaga
Another "barge day" but at Seisia wharf, the sea port for Cape York’s five aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. An optional 4wd tour to visit the very Top of Cape York and mainland Australia. (Weather permitting). 2 night’s accommodation: Resort Bamaga - ensuite room.
DAY 5 TUESDAY - Free Day
Optional activities Relax at your accommodation facility or check out what activities is available, fishing, car hire, beach walks, and browse at local shops. Overnight - Resort Bamaga.
DAY 6 WEDNESDAY - Bamaga, Cairns
Morning free before transfer to Bamaga Airport. (Transfer included). Board your flight to Cairns for an inspiring overview of the vast peninsula wilderness and coastline. Tour concludes upon arrival at Cairns airport. Bamaga to Cairns flight times may vary, we recommend that clients do not plan to connect on same day. Transfer to Cairns or northern beaches accommodation included.
